Zustand und Zusammensetzung

Zustand
Endleaves ff. 1-4 (or at least 2-4) and 172-173 are contemporary products by the same hand as rest of codex, and must have been together with the codex from the beginning, since the hand that writes extensive additional glosses throughout codex also writes a long paragraph on f. 4v. This glossator's work is so extensive as to constitute almost an entire second commentary; and as such the text on 4v may be considered its incipit, and the explicit is given for the last gloss on 171v.
Lagenstruktur
i1+4-1 (one added at front, lacks original 3rd); contemporary endleaves), ii-vi8, vii6 (end Prov.), viii-x8, xi10 (end Cant.), xii-xxii8, xxiii2 (contemporary endleaves), [2]. Catchwords in lower right corner, usually in ink, sometimes lead; also lead signatures I-V(ii-vi) and XI-XXI(xii-xxii), and erroneous signatures in lead crossed out on quires xiii-xxi; in quires viii and xii-xv, the first four folia are numbered I-IIII; "correctus" usually in lower left corner of last verso, in ink or lead, on quires viii-xx.
Seiteneinrichtung
Written space: 210 mm x 133 mm . Each of the three columns (1 for text plus 2 for gloss) is around 40 mm mm wide, with 4-8 mm between columns. Ff. 1-3 and 172 are 208 mm x 137 mm . 26 text lines written, 52 lines (or more) ruled for gloss (main text written every other line); except ruling for 29 or 30 text lines (59 gloss lines) on ff. 2-3 and 172, although only 26 text lines actually written on 172. 1 text column with formal gloss column on either side; sometimes text is written in long lines or continues across one gloss column. Lead ruling, single bounding lines, two lines between columns; additional single lines at gutter and edge of page to guide additional glosses; ruling added in margins whenever needed for additional glosses; line ruled at top for running titles prickings at edge of page, mostly trimmed off, except prickings in gutter of each page for ff. 2-4 and 172-173 text below top line, except above top line when there is no gloss written above. Scriptural book titles as running titles.

Pen trials f. 4v "Sancti spiritus" and 67r by same hand, "Sancti spiritus assit nobis gratia".Endleaves ff.
