Zustand und Zusammensetzung

Zustand
Codex seems to be complete, but 9c correcting hand on f. 161r notes: "Nota / Hic integer quaternio deficit." Lower half of last leaf is excised; some folia of poor quality parchment. Vordere_Innenseite includes fragment from Köln, Dombibl. Cod. 65 (see Vordere_Innenseite contents below).
Lagenstruktur
i-xxvi8, [1]. Quire signatures A-Z(i-xxiii) and A(xxiv) (F-I corr. ex G-K, I also corr. ex H); also I-II, VI-VIII, X, XIII-XV, XVII-XXIIII.
Seiteneinrichtung
Written space: 224 mm x 138 mm 30 lines. ¶ Long lines. Dry-point ruling, double bounding lines in quires i-ii, single thereafter prickings at or near outer bounding line, f. 1 also has prickings about 10 mm from edge of page. text above top line

Schrift und Hände

littera carolina. Many hands.

Buchschmuck

  • 2- to 5-line initials, black or red or stroked with color, usually simple, some with crude geometric designs (interlace f. 198v);
  • tituli in uncials or rustic capitals (square f. 81v), usually red.

Hinzufügungen

Some corrections in margins. In the lower right corner next to text on the first folia of quires x-xii appear letters which seem to spell a name, viz, "BE" (f. 73r) "CE" (81r) "LIN" (89r); and another name is spelled in the same way on first folia of quires xvi-xviii, viz, "HE" (121r) "RI" (129r) "MON" (137r), i.e. "Becelin" and "Herimon"; both names in a fine pen by hand of a 9c annotator/corrector, who also notes lack of quire on f. 161r (see collation above). These may be names of scribes or correctors.
