Herkunft
This is the oldest ms. of the so-called Collectio Vetus Gallica or Collectio Andegavensis (see incipit 1 below; see Bieler, op. cit. pp. 19-20, esp. p. 19 note 3 and p. 20 note 2); some or all of the other texts in this codex perhaps should be considered as part of the Vetus Gallica compilation (esp. incipits 2-6; see
Maassen, p. 831, on the related Collectio Herovalliana =
PL 99:991A-1086A). See also Asbach, op. cit. passim, on the relations between the Excarpsus Cummeani (incipit 11 in this ms.) and the Collectio Vetus Gallica and other texts.
