Buchschmuck

  • 2- to 4-line pen-decorated initials (most in simple outline, some filled with red; minimal pen-decoration of 3-line C, f. 125r; black S surrounded by red dots, f. 183r);
  • tituli in uncials, rustic or square capitals, or mixture, most rubricated;
  • scriptural quotes rubricated ff. 184r-192v.

Hinzufügungen

Few marginalia; interlinear dry-point glosses in notae tironianae and minuscule (see Bischoff, op. cit. infra, and CLA 8.1146; not visible on microfilm). Individual texts are numbered consecutively I through LXXXVII, ff. 1-249, in a contemporary or nearly contemporary hand; last four texts not numbered; 1st text numbered I, second numbered III, perhaps counting the second rubricated titulus for the first text as if it were the second text, although it is not numbered; or perhaps copied from an exemplar which was missing another text at the front, as might be inferred from the first titulus, "Ad eundem "; or numbering added when a first folio(s) already had been lost. This ms. is not identifiable with Decker, nr. 73 (see Frenken , loc. cit.).

Geschichte der Handschrift

Herkunft
Written at or near Salzburg, probably brought to Köln under Abp. Hildebald (785-819) , who was also Abt. of Mondsee, near Salzburg (according to Bischoff and CLA, locc. citt.).
