Schrift und Hände
Late littera carolina. Two main hands: ; ;
and one relief hand writing part or all of at least 23 columns between ff. 23vb-54vb. Hand A is especially calligraphic on first few folia.
Buchschmuck
- For first text: Decorated initials, 10-12 lines, with acanthus vines (foliate interlace, with backgrounds and interstices filled with red, green, and black, details highlighted with gold wash), some inhabited: f. 1va (mouse, beast head and birds); 10va and 15ra (not inhabited);26vb, 33vb and 47va (birds with beast heads and feet).
- 8-line initial on f. 18v;
- tituli in romanesque rustic capitals and minuscules;
- colophon in same letter forms, with alternating words or phrases in red and green;
- first words in mixed majuscules, alternate letters green and red (or brown stroked with red);
- scriptural lemmata of first chapter in romanesque rustic capitals, alternate letters red and brown;
- lesser initials in red.
- For second text: Pen-decorated 22-line red initial with acanthus vines on f. 60ra;
- 10-line initial on f. 84rb (foliate interlace in red outline);
- tituli in red minuscules;
- 1st lines f. 84rb in red rustic capitals.
Hinzufügungen
Some marginal nota signs, notes, and obelisks. The two sections of the ms., corresponding to the two texts, are in different hands and have different types of decoration, but the format is the same.Geschichte der Handschrift
