Geschichte der Handschrift

Provenienz
"Codex sancti petri sub pio patre hildebaldo archiepiscopo scriptus," in 9c capitals (f. 1r). This ms. is one of the four Bischoff named as being among those which without any doubt originated at Köln ("Panorama ", loc. cit.). Listed in the Köln catalogue of 833. Bischoff also notes this ms. and Hs. 33 as the "unmittelbar Nachwirkung" (direct after-effects = copies?) of some of the manuscripts send to Charlemagne by Leo III between 800 and 814 ("Die Hofbibliothek Karls des Grossen", loc. cit.). See also P. Courcelle, Les lettres grecques en Occident de Macrobe à Cassiodore (Paris 1948), p. 377, and English trans. by H.E. Wedeck, Latin Writers and their Greek sources (Cambridge, Mass.), p. 397.
